The Coronavirus, or COVID -19, is causing a major disruption to all of our lives. It has undoubtedly affected every industry in one way or another, and the factoring industry is no exception. Since this is unprecedented territory for everyone, we have put together a panel of industry professionals to discuss various topics related to the virus and what their businesses are doing to mitigate the risk in the midst of this crisis. The webinar is a roundtable discussion between four panelists with a moderator posing questions.

Speakers:
Robyn Barrett - Managing Member, FSW Funding
Robyn earned her bachelor’s degree from Arizona State University and a CPA license. Robyn's first official role in accounting was at Restaurant, Inc. in Phoenix, a food contract management company and subsidiary of the Greyhound Corporation. Three years later, she left the company to take on larger-scale accounting pursuits at The Dial Corporation. After six years at The Dial Corporation, Barrett ventured into the world of corporate finance at FINOVA Capital Corporation, a Phoenix-based publicly traded commercial lender. During her tenure at FINOVA, Barrett held numerous positions including: senior finance manager, senior marketing analyst, senior credit underwriter and vice president of marketing. After leaving FINOVA in 2000, she went on to serve as vice president of marketing and business development at ZoomLot Corporation. In 2001, Barrett founded Scottsdale-based Factors Southwest, LLC. Barrett holds a master’s degree in business administration from Grand Canyon University and is an active member of numerous industry organizations including: American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA); Arizona Society of Certified Public Accountants (ASCPA); Turnaround Management Association (TMA); Risk Management Association (RMA); International Factoring Association (IFA); Commercial Finance Association, and the Association for Corporate Growth.

Wayne Coker - President & CEO, Advantage Business Capital
Wayne has been active in the factoring industry for over 30 years, after starting his own factoring company in Houston in 1985. In 1994, Wayne started one of the first bank-owned factoring companies in Texas. In 2000, Wayne and his team joined Central Bank, Houston’s oldest independent bank, where he also serves as Executive Vice President and Advisory Director. In 2001, Wayne and his staff completed the first of three acquisitions, including a local competitor that was founded in 1978. Prior to entering the factoring industry, Wayne was the owner of several companies in the Houston area. Wayne served on the first Board of the International Factors Association and is a Director of the Commercial Finance Association. Wayne graduated with honors from the University of Houston C.T. Bauer College of Business in 1984.

Bill Elliott - President, First Business Growth Funding
Bill Elliott is President of First Business Growth Funding, the factoring subsidiary of First Business Bank. He has more than 35 years of experience in the commercial finance sector with a special focus on accounts receivable financing and asset-based lending. He spent a considerable portion of his career with Heller Financial and The CIT Group/Commercial Services. He founded Rexford Funding, an independent accounts receivable financing company focused on staffing, transportation, manufacturing, wholesale, and other B2B services. After selling Rexford Funding, he engaged in several long-term consulting projects in mezzanine and accounts receivable finance. Prior to joining First Business, Bill served as National Underwriting Manager for Triumph Commercial Finance, an asset-based lender. Bill has been actively involved in the International Factoring Association and the Commercial Finance Association. He has served in fundraising efforts for City of Hope and National Jewish Health. Bill is deeply engaged in his children’s activities and has served as a coach in AYSO, Little League Baseball, and youth basketball. He holds a BA in Economics from the University of Notre Dame.

Cole Harmonson - CEO & Co-Founder, Dare Capital
Cole is the CEO and co-founder of Dare Capital. From the very beginning of his career, as a young banker, Cole recognized the transformative value of factoring and asset-based lending to manage cashflow for growing companies without impacting equity. At State Bank, he built their factoring services from scratch; at Far West Capital, which he founded in 2007, he built a relationship-based lending business. In 1996, he founded State Bank’s factoring and asset-based lending business; when they sold their business in 2007, Cole took the leap into entrepreneurship and founded Far West Capital to provide financing to entrepreneurs. For 11 years, Far West Capital provided over $6 billion in financing to grow over 1,000 companies to new heights of success; in 2018, Far West Capital sold to Central Bank of Houston in a successful bank exit. Dare means “to give” in Latin, and at Dare Capital, Cole is building on the lessons learned at Far West Capital to support entrepreneurs who truly give to all their stakeholders. Cole believes that factoring and asset-based lending, when utilized for growing companies with committed leaders, can and should be the foundation for long-term growth.

Steve Sala - Senior Vice President & General Manager, Commercial Credit, Inc.
Steve Sala has served as Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Company since its acquisition by Commercial Credit, Inc. in August of 2017. He began his career in capital markets in 1986 as a broker with E.F. Hutton. His 30+ year career in banking and finance includes First Interstate Bank/Wells Fargo and Bank One/JP Morgan Chase. Prior to joining the company, Steve spent approximately six years as a board director and then President and CEO at TAB Bank, as well as senior positions and advisory roles at multi-billion-dollar financial institutions. Steve earned a BS Degree in Finance from California Polytechnic University, Pomona.
