Position Information

Assistant Operations Manager

The Assistant Operations Manager role involves building and maintaining client relationships, managing accounts, and assessing risk on freight bills. The Assistant Operations Manager is responsible for making quick business decisions that have a real impact on CFS and their clients. This position manages client relationships, including collateral verification and risk management at service levels consistent with the business objectives of Compass. The Assistant Operations Manager will have the ability to approve capital loan requests or 10% of aggregate invoices (whichever is lesser), with the countersignature of the Operations Manager. All loan approvals to be submitted to the Credit Committee for notification purposes.

• Preserve and protect the capital employed in client relationships and to provide a level of professional service that results in long-term client retention

• Oversee a Large Fleet client portfolio. Analyze portfolio performance and ensure timely submission of client funding requests

• Reviews daily transactions for accuracy and initiate customer’s funding transfer(s)

• Provide outstanding customer service while maintaining credit controls to prevent portfolio loss exposure

• Maintenance of strong control procedures to mitigate loss exposure

• Develop and maintain operational guidelines for staff

• Effectively communicate with AE’s and senior management on any operational issues and concerns in a timely fashion

• Maintain portfolio delinquency <5%

• Manage resolution of Disputes, Open Credits, Post Verifications and Confirmations on accounts as needed

• Perform limited Financial Statement Analysis (Account Debtor and Client)

• Prepare product or service reports by collecting and analyzing customer information

• Create a team environment and business culture that optimizes both customer service and risk management disciplines

• Train and mentor employees assigned to work and nurture an environment where the team can excel through encouragement and empowerment

• Ensures all chargeable fees are processed when required

• Undertakes client visits along with the AE if required

• Seeks to recommend alternative collection methods when required

• Understand Legal Documentation (Purchase & Sale Agreements, Various supporting legal documents)

• Assist in interviewing, recruiting, training, performance evaluation, promotion and termination activities

• May provide feedback on the annual performance reviews and coaching opportunities for the employees working on your team

• Provides proactive and reactive management of the overall factoring relationship with the client in an ever-changing environment. Responds quickly to any changes

• Evaluate current operational strategies and recommend improvements

• Generate operational reports for management as needed

• Perform other duties as assigned

• Quarterly reporting to the Operations Manager regarding portfolio performance, compliance issues, customer reviews

• Annual review by Operations Manager and CFO to determine proficiency, future position.
