The International Factoring Association's (IFA) goal is to assist the Factoring community by providing information, training, purchasing power and a resource for the Factoring community.

Advisory Board The IFA Advisory Board members serve a two-year term and assist the IFA in broadening the public understanding of the uses and benefits of factoring and help to both design training programs and foster new ideas to benefit its member organizations.

Chris Abel - iThrive Funding, LLC - Roy, UT
Chris has spent his entire 17 year career in the factoring and banking industry. He is a co-founder of iThrive Funding where he has been for the past 4 years. At iThrive, Chris is actively involved in the daily operations management, underwriting, and accounting of the company. Prior to iThrive he held a variety of positions ranging from Operations to Risk Management and Underwriting. Chris spent 4 years with Transfac Capital in Salt Lake City, Utah as an Underwriter and also assisted in many aspects of Portfolio Management for the companies factoring portfolio. Chris also spent 9 years with TAB Bank in Ogden, Utah holding positions as an Account Executive, Portfolio Manager, Underwriter, and most recently VP of Loan Underwriting. In this capacity, he managed a team of underwriters and analysts who underwrote Factoring, Asset Based Lines of Credit, and Equipment Term Loan requests. Through these various positions, Chris has been responsible for the development and implementation of credit and operational policies and procedures. Chris is married with two daughters. In his spare time, he enjoys mountain biking and snowboarding in Utah’s mountains. Chris has a B.S. in Accounting from Weber State University in Ogden, Utah.

Bud Crawford - Coeur Capital, Inc. - Atlanta, GA
Currently, Bud is a founder and managing partner of Coeur Capital, Inc. (“Coeur Capital"), a specialty finance company based out of Atlanta, GA. Coeur Capital provides factoring facilities and ledgered lines of credit ranging from $10,000 to $1,000,000. Prior to founding Coeur Capital, Bud was the CEO of PrimeArc Capital, LLC, which he helped grow into an Inc. 5000 list company. Bud was also an equity partner and COO at Libertas Financial Corporation ("Libertas") and helped successfully negotiate the sale of Libertas to a bank looking to grow their factoring portfolio. Bud has 12+ years of banking and factoring experience and has a strong understanding of the entrepreneurial components associated with starting your own factoring company. He graduated from Davidson College with a degree in economics and was a captain of the football team. Bud has been an active volunteer in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program and coaching youth football at NYO Park. He lives in Atlanta with his wife (Natalie), son (Kelly), soon to be daughter (Lola) and German Shepherd (Kona).  

John Cummings - ACS Factors - Upland, CA
John began his career in factoring in 1983 working for an independent factoring company in Southern California. He worked his way from collections and data entry to managing the office including operations, sales and marketing. In 2009 he co-founded a niche based transportation factoring company and in 2014 started Advance Capital Solutions LLC doing business as ACS Factors. Based in Upland, CA, ACS provides factoring services to small business enterprises and transportation companies as well. Our target market is Southern California, yet we have clients from coast-to-coast. ACS Factors works closely with their clients to gain access to the cash flow they need to help run their businesses and achieve maximum results for their efforts. ACS is a family business with his daughter, Briana Hokanson the company’s Chief Operations Officer. Mr. Cummings has a BS in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing from California State Polytechnic, Pomona. He enjoys playing soccer, golf, hiking with his 2 German Shepherds and traveling with his wife of over 36 years.

Tania Daniel - ENGS Commercial Capital - Birmingham, AL
Tania is the Managing Director of Engs Commercial Capital. Ms. Daniel has spent her career partnering with businesses to meet their working capital needs by providing cash flow solutions such as invoice factoring and other forms of asset based lending. Ms. Daniel brings 17 years’ experience in the Factoring space with Porter Capital Corp. and LSQ Funding Group, where she held various roles of increasing responsibility, and where she was instrumental in helping create Factoring platforms and growing them into market leaders. Ms. Daniel and the ENGS Factoring business are headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama.

Dean Landis – Entrepreneur Growth Capital - New York, NY
Dean represents the third generation of his family to own and manage a finance company. Dean has worked closely with hundreds of companies to provide working capital and other services. Dean joined his family business, United Credit Corp., in 1991 and started its invoice discounting division known as Patriot Funding. Dean sold United to Finova Capital in 1998 and led its Growth Finance Division. Two years later, Dean re-purchased the Company and renamed it Entrepreneur Growth Capital. Dean is also the Founder and CEO of Credit Cash LLC, a fast growing merchant advance company. Prior to entering commercial finance, Dean was an associate at Bear Stearns & Company and an analyst at Merrill Lynch Capital Markets. Dean received his MBA from Northwestern’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management and his BA from Duke University. Dean serves on the boards on various privately held businesses and on the board of trustees of the Randall’s Island Park Alliance. Dean is also active in YPO.

Meg Roberson - Gulf Coast Business Credit - Austin, TX
With more than 16 years of sales management, syndications, commercial banking, factoring and asset-based lending experience, Meg understands how important relationships are. Meg manages a team of sales, underwriting and marketing leaders nationwide and is responsible for new, organic and acquisition originations as well as creating and maintaining a quality brand for Gulf Coast Business Credit. Through Meg’s tenure at GCBC, the portfolio has experienced tremendous growth that can be attributed to hard work, dedication to the marketplace and a loyal portfolio of clients and partners. Roberson serves as the President of the Central Texas Chapter for The Association for Corporate Growth, is actively involved in the International Factoring Association, the Secured Finance Network and is a graduate of Texas A&M University.

Glen Shu - Heritage Bank of Commerce - San Jose, CA
Glen is President of Heritage Bank of Commerce's Specialty Finance Group, which includes factoring, asset based lending, and SBA business units. He also coninues to serve as President for Heritage's wholly owned subsidiary, Bay View Funding since April 2009 and Chief Operating Officer from October 2007. Prior to that, Glen served as Executive Vice President since October 2004, and Senior Vice President of underwriting and operations for the factoring division of Bay View Commercial Finance Group, from February 1998 to June 2002. Mr. Shu's background includes experience in asset based lending, while serving in various marketing, underwriting, and portfolio management roles with KBK Financial and Concord Growth Corporation from 1992 to 1998. Mr. Shu began his financial services career with San Francisco Federal in 1989 and has spent over 30 years in the financial services industry. Mr. Shu is a graduate of San Jose State University and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in finance.

Gerry Wawzonek - Capital Now - Calgary, AB, CANADA
Gerry was raised in Ontario and subsequently pursued his education at the University of Guelph, earning a Bachelor of Arts Degree. He expanded his knowledge and expertise with fifteen years of experience in the mortgage business as a registered mortgage broker with Axcess Capital Partners, HSBC, and CIBC. Gerry found his entrepreneurial spirit by founding, operating and owning several successful businesses. Through his experience, he has focused on understanding the day-to-day struggles of business owners like himself, in particular, the need of access to capital. Gerry founded Capital Now in 2008 with a striving principle of helping his peers gain the resources to grow their businesses by understanding their precise needs. Gerry as intimately been involved in all aspects of factoring, rounding out his extensive knowledge in the field. He participated in underwriting, funding, administration, collections and investor relations. Subsequently, Gerry was certified as a “Factoring Account Executive” by the prestigious International Factoring Association in 2015. Gerry also flourished in evolving operations, developing best practices, implementing industry-specific software, and automating banking software thus allowing Capital Now to grow, and as of 2018, Capital Now has launched its US division.
